Casino Inspired

We love poker chips. At Claysmith, we want our poker chips to stand for and look like something substantial. Most home game poker chips are just a component of the game. Claysmith poker chips are an ingredient to the enjoyment of the game. We want players to be excited when they hear that your poker game will be using Claysmith chips. You will be proud when you set them on your table.

We have taken great consideration and analyzed thousands of poker chips over the history of casino gaming to arrive at our own designs. We believe that an interesting poker chip is one that tells a story. Every poker chip that we produce garners a little bit of Las Vegas style and tries to exhibit a fresh look at the history of gaming.

We would like to issue a special thank you to James Campiglia and Steve Wells for their book: The Official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide, Fourth Edition. We have spent countless hours reading this guide and understanding what we believe makes a poker chip look and feel like a real casino poker chip. We believe that you have to study and understand the history of casino chips to design chips that today’s players will love. James and Steve’s book truly chronicles the history of casino chips.

Our design mission is to uncover what makes a casino poker chip interesting and exhibit it with new and fresh techniques. Some chips are so interesting that they are exciting to hold in your hands. We want Claysmith chips to carry this same gravitas and have a memorable effect on your players. With the help of James and Steve, we think we have uncovered some of the magic that makes poker chips fun and exciting.

If you have a chance, take some time to read our page about James Campiglia and maybe pick up one of his price guides. Poker Chips tell the history of gambling. James and Steve’s poker guide has shed a light on much of the history of casino gaming and has had an inspiring effect on our chip designs. Many of our designs were conjured up while pouring over the pages of his book and finding what we thought was cool or unique.
